Brynden vs weaning

Brynden is winning. I am trying to wean him and to no avail. He has a very carefully formulated plan. when he is hungry he makes the eat sign when he wants more he makes the more sign. when he wants the boobie he tries to lift my shirt. He also pulls down the boppy pillow which for him is CLOSELY associated with nursing. Grr Brynden 1 Weaning 0

Daila

It has long become common in our house to hear the name Daila attached to any sentence out of Brody's mouth. I think he misses his friend... one instance is when we said prayer and i told him i love you and he said ok daila.... or when he dances around the house singing, his song goes a bit like this....ladidah daila da la di daila. Its a bit alarming and quite funny. It is his response to everything.... we dont get it. I think the only cure is to have that silly girl back over for play time.. hint hint voelkel family....

Easter time

I am sad to say that i am happy that easter is over. It was a bit of a headache. I wont go into details cause you never know who might be spyin, but the egg hunt was on time which was a disaster... if you knew myself and my fellow church members, that says it all. We had some passive aggressive acts (ask me directly for more info) and the bunny rabbit did not bring myself or taylor candy that they wanted. Guess we need to open the lines of communication with him (the bunny) ugh maybe next year will be better

Happy Birthday to me

Birthday time !! Even though I feel old (yes i know thats stupid) i have always loved celebrating birthdays. This morning my whole family were in our small queen sized bed (small with all 5 of us in there) and my boys sang me happy birthday. my mom and dad both called already as well. Great start to my birth morning. Happy day to you all.

days like today

days like today make me smile. We got the chance to eat lunch and visit with some friends. The boy had a great time Brynden kept crawling up the playset to the fort via ladder (had no idea that he could even do that) he also like licking the dirt that was everywhere and eating the sidewalk chalk. this was trying for me as i was trying to not further his palate by adding nature items.

Brody and pals were making sand /dirt castles with water(yes just making mud) and threatening to sword fight the dog a few houses down.

today was also a little sad, a smidgen. We found a tiny baby bird dead on taylors cop car. we scooped it up and buried it under the tree in our backyard. Brody said the prayer for it :) it was very tweet(haha) and not a bit solemn. just the right mix for the baby birdie.

anyway another funny thing today that i had to record before i forgot was boston requesting to be called cody jones. who apparently is the kid of casey jones and april o'neill from the TMNT. i fondly recall wanting to change my name to Darling just like the wife in Lady and the Tramp. My reasoning was that this way i would be everyones' darling...... kids, man!

One last good thing was Boston's second ever dolphin. this a huge thing cause he has had a bit of trouble this past week and a half with check marks galore and even a sad face(that he is filing a claim against apparently it was a sub and she doesnt understand ms.mestmans behavior chart) just an fyi on the behavior chart : unhappy face, check mark, happy face, and DOLPHIN (kinda like an A++

sad to say its over

I am so tired this morning and a bit sad. I went last night with Linda to see Blue October at the pagent. It was awesome. There were parts that werent awesome: the lack of seats, the drunk girls in front of us, the opening band, the fact that the concert ended :( we arrived home about 1130pm after 3.5 hours of standing. The band was great though. Played some really good old songs and some new songs off their new album. One of these songs is on my playlist :my never. enjoy it, cause i do!

we woke up bright and early and left the hotel around 9am here are some pictures of us being silly on that long 10hour drive in to colorado

Flash Back : Spring Break hotel stay

alright after destroying the hotel room with all of our kids and belongings. we decided to wander around and find all the cool things in the resort. we found an arcade, a few eateries, a gift shop, a 3rd floor interactive game a huge tree, and a huge HUGE indoor waterpark complete with slides and a baby area, a huge water play park, a lazy river,a pool just to swima nd play basketball/cross river games a family hot tub and an adult hot tub, and tons more it was a blast. we decide to go eat at the indoor resturant and it was some good, slightly expensive, eating.

we hurried back up to our room, got dressed in our swim attire and hit the water. Boston went down every tube slide and waterslide. he was fearless. Brody was a little more scared so he went down a couple of tube slides with me and then went to climb in the water fort. Brynden and i got dunked by the bagillion water bucket and he hated that. we lost brody and brynden got sprayed in the face a few times while he and i were trying to find scodes. everyone was tired by like 7pm and we passed out.

Flash Back : Spring Break Vacation Hotel

So today we are flashing back to march 12 when we went on our spring break family vacation to colorado. Driving with 3 kids under the age of 6. crazy, i know. Our first stop was about 4 hours in at a resort/hotel called Great Wolf Lodge. It is in kansas city, ks. It was recomended by our friends the( http://guymongoofs.blogspot.com/ ) Guymons. It was pretty amazing. Here are some pictures from our hotel room. The first is a picture of the boys section of our room it was a kids tent theme.

they loved that they had their own space and bunkbeds. It also had a window they could jump in and out of,

some bears to hang out with and a tv with a desk

It was a pretty nifty space. it was a large room with the boys section in the same room but seperated by a wall. there was a little kitchen off to the side complete with fridge and microwave.
a tv a fold out bed and a queen sized bed.... we also had a patio.
