Just some friends that gathered....

Good bye Guymons

Finally they are gone....

I am sad. I must have said this a thousand times. I did not want my children to lose their friends... I did not want my young women to lose such a great leader. I did not want to lose such good tennis players. I did not want to lose such a good seamstress. I did not want to lose such a wonderful priesthood holder. I did not want to lose such a beautiful becca. I did not want to lose a friend that has come to mean so much to me in the short year that i have known her. Most selfishly i did not want Rachelle to leave.

Late last night I dropped by their house to pick up some pants she tailored for taylor. hahaha. While i was there I decided to stay and help clean house because it was 10:45pm and they still had a lot to do. I swept, mopped, wiped down and chatted.

when i finally left 12:15am they were finishing up and planning on leaving by 6am that morning. Ron and Rachelle walked me out and i hugged them both one last time. Now i am sure that i will see them again . And i know for sure that i will talk to them again, but it was a bit heart wrenching to pull out of their drive way and see them, hugging onto each other waving goodbye. I rolled down my window and told Rachelle, no crying! She laughed and sounded as though she had already started.

Driving away i got a little teary eyed. Sure i had told her to please not leave, and sure i had given her a goodbye bbq, a goodbye note, a goodbye present, one last tennis game, one last play date, a goodbye yw card/pics, you get the point... i had said good bye in so many ways without crying that i thought i was good. No tears, end of story. After all she wasn't my first friend that i had made since moving here who has left and she wouldn't be my last .... But when you are both stay at home moms, in the same calling, in the same branch, already seeing each other Wednesdays and Sunday's. You have the same amount of kids who are roughly the same age, who enjoy playing together.... you get close. You confide some secrets, rely on one another to watch each others kids at the park.

I still haven't told my children that their friends are gone and not coming back. Brody will be the saddest. He really liked all the Guymons. He liked hanging out with Ron, flirting with Rachelle, kung fu fighting with Ronnie, playing trains with Jace, and giving food to Becca. Boston wont know what hit him, when he comes back from vacation.... And poor Brynden wont have his girlfriend, Becca, who he loves to feed by hand.

Its just a sad thing to wave goodbye to a friend who has come to mean more to you than you expected in such a short time. I will miss all the Guymon's. We will all miss them. And darn them, they are so good they make you sick, and want to be a better person, without hating them too much.

Chelle you better keep in touch.....

My handsome boy

Brynden at the sealing back in april just to cute to not repost

Fathers Day

Kissu face brynden

this is how taylor works out

Almost all of my guys

this fathers day we did things a little different. Each kid got daddy a gift.Ender and Valentine got daddy some milano cookies(his favorite) Brynden got daddy a chuck norris dvd (inside joke) Brody got daddy a movie as well(boondock saints:violent but good) Boston got daddy some movie tickets(so he could take them all to see transformers) and mommy got daddy some much needed temple gear. Daddy was very impressed....

they took some pics before church that i will add to this post later. then daddy, tired from working the night before went to bed. Brody tried to convince him to come to church but since daddy had to work again that night he said no. at church Brody told Everybody that daddy was at home playing video games and then going to sleep.... this was true, but he was only playing video games to unwind from working that morning.... it still sounded bad.

Burnt toast

Last week we had some high temps.... like in the high 90s. So to combat that and get out of the house we went pool jumping.

Wednesday we went to st.Vincent county park. they have a pretty neat water park inside that is cheap and empty till about 2pm, We played with the guymon's and the davidsons. (don't ask me to help apply your sunscreen. I did a horrible job on juliann and now she has a huge red area....)Brody didn't want to leave and neither did Brynden but Brynden had pooped disgustingness through his swim diaper and i didnt want to deal with it anymore....

Thursday we went to tower grove, this time i had Gavin and Dalia and Brody and brynden. we met up with the guymons again and their pal Mona who helped me with Gavin. Mona is a super sweet life saver like, cherry! once again they didn't want to leave but mommy gets sleepy and cranky by 3pm having missed her nap :(

Friday, i know, you are thinking WHAT??? why would you go out again, aren't you already like burnt toast???hot, dry and burnt.... well yes i was. but the kids wanted to go .... so we went to ballwin to hang out at my friend Kara's pool once again heading home by 3 cause mommy was tired, cranky, hot, and burnt like toast.

Now saturday and sunday we didnt do anything out doors. Monday has rolled around, the high is 96 and i am trying to figure out where to go play in the water.... :)

flash back: broad over view of Girls camp

Having never planned for girls camp i was sure it would be an exhausting time. this was when i had a camp director to pick up the slack. Fast forward to actually having camp meetings attended, no camp director(she was busy), and 8 million things that needed to be packed for myself and 8 girls. I was lucky enough to have one of my counselors, Kate, cause she was super camp savvy. Forms to be signed and turned in, physicals that needed to be done, a skit, a cadence, a flag, money for camp, rides, gear, etc. thankfully i had a few other yw leaders help me out. it was still quite a headache. it was finally done, a few days before camp. All i needed to do was actually go to camp. I was so excited. then i got to camp. and met the ticks, and daddy long legs, and i shudder to even think of it.
The camp itself was gorgeous. The snake in the lake was not.
the skit was amazing.the 3 verbal fights and 2 almost physical ones were not.
the cadence was fabulous.the almost physical fight, complete with curse words in the mud, interrupting someone Else's devotional was not.
Testimony meeting at Nimhs look out was heavenly. the five mile hike was not.
going out in the boat was fun. the girls constant complaining was not.
Creating bonds of friendship with Kate and the other girls was great. the mini river flowing by our camp site due to the 3 consecutive nights of rain was not.
Sullivan branch helping us out was fantastic. the girls hiking to repelling and it not being ready and hiking back after a 3-5 mile hike earlier was not.
the friends outside of Pagedale we all made was wonderful. the inside of the tent the girls were sleeping was not (due to smelly clothes etc.)

Flash Back: first time Girls camp

Camp started with a lot of firsts:
This year was my first year at girls camp,
my first year as yw president,
our first year for Pagedale to have 8 girls going(in a long time)
our first year being at the very back of the camp( I told the girls this was BC we are black. They looked at me and laughed. They said i was pretty close to being black :) )
My first year of being deathly afraid of ticks and other creepy crawlies(i am still twitchy)
my first camping experience with Kate.
my first camping experience with 7 hormonal teenage girls living in one tent for 4 days.
first time showering outside (aside from the daddy long legs showering next to me, this was a good one. it was also a good opp to check for ticks)
first time was drawn into an almost physical altercation in the mud between 3 very angry girls
first time camping outside during a stage3 thunderstorm
first time shooting a gun with the girls(lucky for them it was at targets, not them!)
first time sleeping on an air mattress (that deflated the first night)
first time removing a freckle like tick from one of our girls
first time being away from Taylor, Brody and Brynden
first time going on an arduous 5 mile hike in the sweltering Missouri summer
first time taking and passing a 100yard swim test
first time doing above said 100 yard swim test twice because i lost my swim tag
first time crawling over a moving log without using my feet
