Having never planned for girls camp i was sure it would be an exhausting time. this was when i had a camp director to pick up the slack. Fast forward to actually having camp meetings attended, no camp director(she was busy), and 8 million things that needed to be packed for myself and 8 girls. I was lucky enough to have one of my
counselors,
Kate, cause she was super camp
savvy. Forms to be signed and turned in, physicals that needed to be done, a skit, a cadence, a flag, money for camp, rides, gear, etc. thankfully i had a few other
yw leaders help me out. it was still quite a headache. it was finally done, a few days before camp. All i needed to do was actually go to camp. I was so excited. then i got to camp. and met the ticks, and
daddy long legs, and i shudder to even think of it.
The camp itself was gorgeous. The snake in the lake was not.
the skit was amazing.the 3 verbal fights and 2 almost physical ones were not.
the cadence was fabulous.the almost physical fight, complete with curse words in the mud, interrupting someone
Else's devotional was not.
Testimony meeting at
Nimhs look out was heavenly. the five mile hike was not.
going out in the boat was fun. the girls constant complaining was not.
Creating bonds of friendship with
Kate and the other girls was great. the mini river flowing by our camp site due to the 3 consecutive nights of rain was not.
Sullivan branch helping us out was fantastic. the girls hiking to repelling and it not being ready and hiking back after a 3-5 mile hike earlier was not.
the friends outside of
Pagedale we all made was wonderful. the inside of the tent the girls were sleeping was not (due to smelly clothes etc.)
